January 13, 2020  1 John 3:23  And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. (Lord Jesus, give me the strength, courage and wisdom to follow your command to love one another. AMEN)

 

January 20, 2020  Psalm 30:11-12  You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul* may praise you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever. (That you Lord Jesus for helping me lay down the pain and sorrow in my life and filling me with the peace and joy only you can give. AMEN)

 

January 27, 2020  Psalm 86:6-7  Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my cry of supplication.  In the day of my trouble I call on you, for you will answer me. (Thank you Lord for always listening to my prayers, especially when my life is difficult. AMEN)

 

February 3, 2020  Proverbs 21:15  When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but dismay to evildoers. (Open my eyes and heart so that my hands will be the instruments of your merciful justice in the world. AMEN)

 

February 10, 2020  1 Peter 4:10 Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. (Thank you Father, for blessing me with talents and gifts to serve you and to serve others. AMEN)

 

February 17, 2020  Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving. (Strengthen me in these days to actively pray to you. Help me to see your invitation to pray is a gift and not a burden. AMEN)

 

February 24, 2020  2 Corinthians 5:20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (Lord Jesus, guide my words and actions in these days to always be a reflection of your love, grace and mercy, AMEN)

 

March 2, 2020 1 Corinthians 10:24 Do not seek your own advantage, but that of others. (Help me to always see how I ca help others before I seek to satisfy myself.  AMEN)

 

March 9, 2020  Genesis 2:7  Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground,* and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being. (Thank you Father, for it is only with the breath of your Holy Spirit within us that we truly live. AMEN)

 

March 16, 2020  Psalm 41:1  Happy are those who consider the poor; *the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble. (Thank your Lord, for watching over us when we watch over others.AMEN)

 

March 23, 2020  Psalm 57:11  Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.  (Heavenly Father, Eternal Creator, let my voice join in the song of your creation giving glory and praise to you.  AMEN)

 

March 30, 2020  Proverbs 9:6 Lay aside immaturity,* and live, and walk in the way of insight.’ Help me Father to grow beyond my childish and selfish ways and into a life of loving service to others. AMEN)

 

April 6, 2020  1 Peter 2:20 If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, where is the credit in that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval. (Help me Jesus to withstand the attacks I face and give me the strength to follow you and your path of love and forgiveness for others. AMEN)

 

April 13, 2020  James 4:7 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Father, give me the wisdom to submit to your love and instruction, and give me the strength and courage to the devil. AMEN)

 

April 20, 2020  Isaiah 55:1 Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Thank you for your invitation to come to you. Thank you for paying the ultimate prices for my sins, in the life death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, your son, my savior. AMEN)

 

April 27, 2020  Ephesians 6:18  Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints. (Heavenly Father, help me to seek the guidance of your Holy Spirit and the courage to follow your way when I pray. AMEN)

 

May 4, 2020  Psalm 30:2  Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. (Thank you Lord for always offering me the true healing I need. AMEN)

 

May 11, 2020 1 John 3:18  Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.  (Heavenly Father, help me to show others in all I say and do, that I am your blessed and loved child. AMEN)

 

May 18, 2020 Acts 5:29 But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than any human authority. (Lord Jesus, give me the strength and courage to always obey you  in all circumstance sin my life. AMEN)*

 

May 25, 2020 Psalm 40:1  1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. (Give me patience Lord Jesus to wait for your gracious and wise response to my prayers and pleas. AMEN)

 

June 1, 2020  Psalm 116:12-13  What shall I return to the Lord for all his bounty to me? 13I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord, (Almighty God, I thank you for the undeserved blessings in my life both great and small. June 15, 2020 Psalm 89:1  1 I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord,* forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations.  (Heavenly Father, as these spring days and blossoming trees and flowers remind us of new birth, I lift up my voice in praise to you for your never-ending faithfulness to me. June 22, 2020  Proverbs 4:14-15 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evildoers. 15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. (Lord Jesus, help me to hear and follow your simple instructions to avoid those who are wicked and evil. AMEN)

 

June 29, 2020  Psalm 56:4  In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me?  (Help me Heavenly Father to remember that I need not be afraid of the evil in the world when I put my trust in you. AMEN)

 

July 6, 2020  Acts 10:28 and he said to them, ‘You yourselves know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or to visit a Gentile; but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean.  (Heavenly Father help to remember that you created all people in your image and there is no one beyond your love. AMEN)

 

July 13, 2020  Colossians 3:1 So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  (As I live in the complexity and simplicity of your creation, help me to see the eternal and heavenly beauty in everyone and everything you have created. AMEN)

 

July 20, 2020   Peter 2:6 6For it stands in scripture: ‘See, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious; and whoever believes in him* will not be put to shame.’  (Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus who is the strong foundation of my life. AMEN)

(Lord Jesus, your word is clear, we are to love all your children, our brothers and sister created in your image. May your Holy Spirit help and guide me as I follow your commandment. AMEN)

August 24, 2020  Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. (God of the vast universe, help me to always remember and see your presence close to me. AMEN)

 

August 31, 2020  Jeremiah 31:34 34No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.  (Heavenly Father, help me to know and live every day showing  that your forgiveness of my sins is a gift through your Son, Jesus. September 7, 2020  Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present* help in trouble. (Thank you Lord for standing with me and helping me when my life is difficult. AMEN)

 

September 14, 2020  John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. (Thank you Heavenly Father for connecting me to your life giving vine through the waters of my baptism and the cross of your Son Jesus. AMEN)

 

September 21, 2020  Luke 9:35  Then from the cloud came a voice that said, ‘This is my Son, my Chosen;* listen to him!’ (Help me always to not only listen to your Son Jesus , but also to always serve and follow him all the days of my life. AMEN)

 

September 28, 2020   1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. (Lord humble my heart and my ego that my words and hands may serve you. AMEN)

 

October 5, 2020   Psalm 71:3  Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress,* to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. (Lord when the world is harsh and my path is difficult, help me to find my rest and security in the promises you washed over me in the waters of my baptism. AMEN).  

 

October 12, 2020   Matthew 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; (Use me Jesus to be a laborer in your field so that others will know of your love, mercy, forgiveness, peace and grace. AMEN)

 

October 19, 2020   Luke 20:25 He said to them, ‘Then give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’  (Father, I am created in your image. Help me to give my life to you and your kingdom. AMEN)

 

October 26, 2020   Matthew 23:11-12  11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted. (Heavenly Father, as Jesus became a humble servant to earn my salvation, humble me that though my words and deeds others might come to know you and your saving grace. AMEN)

 

November 2, 2020   Romans 6:5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. (Thank you Heavenly Father for all the faithful saints you have put into my live who shared your gospel grace and love to me. AMEN)

 

November 9, 2020   Psalm 8:9  Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Lord Jesus, A am humbled when I see the beauty of the earth and the majesty of all you have created; help me to always praise your name. AMEN)

 

November 16, 2020   Lamentations 3:57 You came near when I called on you; you said, ‘Do not fear!’ (Thank you God; In the tenderness of your Holy Spirit, you come close to me whenever I call upon your name. AMEN)

 

November 23, 2020   1 John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Everyone who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. (Help me Heavenly Father to see everyonewho does yhour good work is acceptable to you. AMEN)

 

 

 

November 30, 2020   Colossians 3:13 Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord* has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (Help me Father to live the difficult words of your Holy prayer, show me how to forgive others as you have forgiven me. AMEN).

 

December 7, 2020  Luke 12:40  You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.’  (Lord Jesus, as we prepare to celebrate your humble birth as our Savior, help me also and always to prepare for your return and King. AMEN)

 

December 14, 2020  Psalm 103:8  The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.  (When I am face with events and people that cause me anger or frustration, help me Jesus to remember always your loving patience for me. AMEN)

 

December 21, 2020  Ephesians 5:15 Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, (In the sometimes hectic and confusing activities of this season, help me to remember Lord Jesus, that it is your birth for my salvation that we celebrate in these days. AMEN)

 

December 28, 2020  Matthew 13:16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. (Thank You, Father for opening my eyes and ears so that I may see your presence in the world today. AMEN).
